Visiting the LightWave Systems Facility in California

Since I’m on the West Coast for the MI clinic, I figured I’d stop in at LightWave and see what they are cooking up. The visit did not disappoint…I got to see some lovely prototypes that Christopher Willcox is working on.

The mahogany fretless on the left is a killin’ bass….sweet, warm and articulate.

Just tried a killin’ guitar here in the lab…the LightWave Atlantis Guitar. I was really surprised how great this guitar feels, plays and sounds. Cool electro-acoustic!

Hanging out at the lab at LightWave Systems with CEO Christopher Willcox with this surprising Taylor bass conversion.

Here’s a close-up of the Taylor conversion. Body is huge but tapered, the neck is slender and fast. Sounds really good. This was an impressive instrument.

Prototype of a LightWave EUB…work in progress.

After my amazing tour of LightWave Systems, and a great lunch with Chris Willcox…I’m getting the nickel tour of Santa Barbara with John Devereaux. I don’t want to go home! It’s so pretty here.

A busy but great day in Carpinteria and Santa Barbara. Many thanks to Christopher Willcox, Sjoerd Koppert, and John Devereaux for their hospitality!
