2017 Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon Performance

This blog is serving as an online album of photos and media from the Double Koru Rock Ensemble/Spring 2017 Rock For Strings joint performance at the 2017 Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon. Many thanks to Andrea King, Thunder 104.5, Forte Music Studios, and Fredericksburg Main Street for hosting us! And many thanks to Core Redonnett and all the fine folks at NS Design for their support. Also, a thank you to Jon Giroux and Warwick for all they’ve done to support this group.

This first batch of photos was provided by the talented Jason Yusko. Hi-res copies of any of these photos are available upon request. Click on the blue link above any photo to enlarge it.

Video links submitted by Chris Cruz. This is our T-Rex. I mean, Iron Maiden has Eddie. We’ve got a T-Rex. Totally makes sense.

End of the day. A few of us have been up since 3:30 AM.
DKRE closes the show with a performance of “Sweet Dreams Are Made of This”…our first public performance of our version of the Hampton String Quartet arrangement. Yes, still needs work. Lack of sleep will do that to a group. 😉

And here is a link to Andrea Black’s collection of media from the event. Thank you Andrea for taking the time to put this together! The physical link to her site is; https://onedrive.live.com/?authkey=%21AI467uhEP3xocVw&v=photos&id=21BBE35D68BE1FB4%21381&cid=21BBE35D68BE1FB4

We have a brief mention in the local news coverage about the Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon here. Clicking the link will open the news story in a new window.

Andrea King found some pics taken by runners in various groups around Facebook.

More additions to this page are coming soon. There are hundred of photos to gather together from more sources. SO…stay tuned.
