WE ARE LOOKING FOR acoustic & electric string players; violinists, violists, cellists, & double bassists of all ages & skill level with an interest in performing rock, pop, and original music in an orchestral setting that uses a rock rhythm section. We use both electric & acoustic string instruments.
We are also looking for one to two guitar players to audition for the group, as our current guitar player will be graduating in 2018. (Contact me directly for audition information at email@example.com).
WHEN: WINTER/SPRING 2018 session begins on Wednesday Jan. 10th, 7:00 to 8:00 PM at Forte Music Studios. We meet weekly on Wednesday nights. Forte Music is located at 1691 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. More info at fortemusicstudios.com.
Here is where this group is different than school or community orchestra;
We teach the basics of live sound, amplification, playing on an electric instrument, using effects, and mics. Past song choices have included music from Hendrix, Queen, Muse, Zeppelin, Guns N’Roses, Journey, Ozzy Osbourne, The Cranberries, and more. We’ve played various house concerts, venues, flash mobs, churches, the Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon, and we’ve been filmed for a TV show and a documentary.
Enrollment Information – Fees and Important Deadlines:
Early enrollment: $100 for the semester, prepaid by Jan. 2nd, 2018
On Time Delivery: $120 between Jan 3rd and Jan 10th
First class is Jan. 10th, 7 to 8 PM at Forte Music Studios
Late Enrollment: After Jan. 11th is $140
All enrollment for the class closes Jan. 24th
